The Cowboy Chuck Company is a family owned and operated business featuring the whimsical cartoons of Anita Massimini-Brown.
Anita had always enjoyed drawing but she first began to develop her now recognizable cartoon characters during a particularly boring college economics class in 1972. For the next eight years, her cartoons were given exclusively to family and friends.
In the summer of 1980, Anita and I had been married for a year and had full time jobs. Even so, we had plenty of free time on the weekends and also had a desire to make some “extra” money. After much discussion, we made the decision to start a business to see if there was a market for Anita’s unique cartoons. With modest expectations, we cleared out a small corner of our garage and the Cowboy Chuck Company was born. We had no clue how life would change for us. The positive response to Anita’s cartoons was incredible and we were immediately overwhelmed. We quit our “real” jobs and within a few years her cartoons were being displayed in homes and businesses all over the world. Because of such rapid and unexpected growth during that era, we often had to relocate the business to larger facilities. In 1990 we moved into our current World Headquarters here in Moorpark, California. (In case you don’t know where Moorpark is - it is about midway between Fillmore and Somis!!!)
Thanks to the dedication and talents of our friends and family who helped us on our journey, as well as the countless wonderful customers who have supported us these past 25 years, the American Dream has come true for Anita and I. We are living proof that such magical events really DO happen!
Thanks for your continued support.
